When ultralight masochist Andrew Skurka isn’t flagellating himself with the sawed-off ends of toothbrush handles, he’s helping Sierra Designs design a new generation of ultralight backpacking gear. The culmination of that relationship will be this new High Route 1 FL Tent that . It looks exceptionally livable, but at 2 lbs 3 oz, we’re a little skeptical of its ultimate point. The Slingfin 2Lite, , fits two people comfortably, doesn’t force you to carry trekking poles to set it up, and weighs just 2 lbs 14 oz.
