Backing out of your triathlon pledge? You're not the only one; has listed the top five excuses for bailing on your fitness goal (and really, these won't come as a surprise).

1. I don't have enough time.

Americans watch an alleged 32 hours a week of television (internet time not included). If you cut even half of that, you could squeeze in time for training. Or, if you must, time your treadmill training to your favorite show.

2. I am no runner/cyclist/swimmer.

Everyone starts somewhere right? Find your weaknesses and work at them. Hey–if you're kids can handle taking off the training wheels or the floaties, you can too.

3. I'm too out of shape.

Want to learn the best way to get back in shape? Exercise! What better way to reach your goal than to train for something your whole body has to work at. Hey–it beats the gym right?

4. I'm afraid I won't be able to finish.

This one is more about your mind. If you put your body through training, you can do it. And if worse comes to worse, at least you can say you tried. That alone is a big feat.

5. I have no clue where to start.

There are resources abound. Coaches, fitness experts, friends who have completed triathlons themselves, etc. Not to mention our on our website. If you decided you want to do this, you can.
