Maureen Gaffney is a freelance journalist covering cycling and equestrian pursuits for Singletracks.com, The Cycling Independent, ϳԹ Cyclist, Velo, ϳԹ, and Horse Illustrated. Prior to becoming a journalist she was a professional horse trainer. Maureen is an avid mountain biker, a sometimes road-biker, and a not-very-often gravel biker. She is also a trail building consultant, and has helped long-distance trails like the San Francisco Bay Trail, Bay Area Ridge Trail, Napa Valley Vine Trail and the San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail move from idea to reality. She lives in Salida, Colorado.
