A Float Down the Futaleufú River

Fed by the lakes of Los Alerces National Park, Patagonia's Futaleufú River is known for its deep blue, glacial waters that begin high in the Argentine Andes before crossing the border into Chile.

Like so many boaters and fisherman before us, we packed our rafts full of gear and set out in search of some hungry fish. We had just launched one morning when I saw the perfect cliff. After a quick climb, I made a little outcropping of rock my office. From my perch a few hundred feet up, I stood in awe, shooting photos and watching the fish.
