Kylie Mohr is a freelance environmental journalist and a correspondent at the magazine High Country News. She focuses on covering wildfire, wildlife and wild places in the West. Her work appears in National Geographic, The Atlantic, Vox, CBS News and more. Mohr also reviews outdoor gear in all four seasons for GearJunkie.
Based in Missoula, Montana, she enjoys trail running through larch stands in the fall, exploring the backcountry on skis in the winter and biking among the wildflowers in the spring. You can occasionally find her casting a fly rod into the bushes or trying to train her dog to sleep peacefully in a tent.
