

Brian Laidlaw
Brian Laidlaw is a writer and climber based in Moab, Utah. He has published the poetry collections The Stuntman and The Mirrormaker (Milkweed Editions) and the vinyl LP This Aster (Fonograf Editions). A recipient of a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Denver, he has written for a variety of publications including Orion, Climbing, and Alpinist; his song lyrics have appeared in American Songwriter Magazine, and he has credits as a songwriting consultant on Grammy-Award-winning and -nominated albums. Brian is also a co-founder of Unrestricted Interest, an organization that offers creative writing mentorship for neurodivergent poets and lyricists. He still tours as a folksinger, and is finalizing his first nonfiction book, a collection of climbing essays, forthcoming from Milkweed Editions next year.
