SCOTT LINDGREN, whose first descent of Tibet’s deadly Tsangpo was chronicled in our issue, continues to paddle and film the world’s most dangerous whitewater. His upcoming DVD, Burning Time II (out in May), features first descents in China and Turkey. And during a recent trip to Zambia, where he was working on a film about South African kayak legend Steve Fisher, Lindgren and his crew decided to tackle the Upper Minus rapids, which explode from underneath mile-wide, 355-foot Victoria Falls in a series of Class V+ drops. “It’s one of the most powerful places you could ever stand,” says Lindgren, 34, of the point above the falls (pictured here) where they stopped to scout the river. “Those rapids are as big as it gets.”
