“It’s great for business,” says six-time world speed-skiing champion Franz Weber. “I got a speaking engagement just by hanging out in that tub.” Weber, who is the director of skiing at California’s Squaw Valley, is talking about the bubbliest, most happening social club in the Sierra, if not the nation: the three perfectly pH’d hot tubs at the Resort at Squaw Creek. What makes
them so good? All have prime seating for those patented Sierra sunsets. And the waitstaff starts taking cocktail orders at a pleasantly uncivilized 11 a.m. But Weber also appreciates the little things. “The walkways leading to the tubs are heated,” he says. “So you don’t have to chip ice from your toes when you get there.”
