The boots Reese Witherspoon wears in Wild, the movie based on Cheryl Strayed’s best-selling memoir about the Pacific Crest Trail, are coming to a store near you.
Taking design cues from some of its iconic 1970s hiking styles, footwear-maker Danner created customized boots for Witherspoon. The new women’s Mountain Light Cascade features a full-grain leather upper, a waterproof/breathable Gore-Tex lining, and will come packaged in a vintage Danner box—a replica of the Danner used in 1995, the year Strayed set out on the PCT.
The made-in-America Mountain Light Cascade also comes with a sew-on patch that depicts Oregon’s Mount Hood and PCT mile-marker 2,096—the entrance to the Mt. Hood National Forest.
Watch the movie in theaters December 5. Try on the boots October 1.
